Thursday, 15 August is, as A-Level results day, which presents a useful opportunity to profile allied health professions (AHP) careers and relevant university courses entered into Clearing.

The national HEE AHP are taking a planned approach and are asking for your professional, organisational and personal support as mums, dads, carers, friends, aunties, uncles or neighbours of young people getting their A level results next week who could be interested in a fabulous career as an AHP.

  • The team are working with Health Careers and the Office for Students SIHED programme who are providing information on their digital platforms for students getting their results. As well as covering other work roles, they will include material on AHP careers and Clearing, together with other routes into NHS employment.
  • Specifically, a page about A level results day has been published on the Health Careers’ website featuring the support available to students, links to information on a number of AHP roles, Clearing information, and links to AHP resources, including the WOW Show films: https://www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/news/level-exam-results-2019.
  • Health Careers’ social media posts will include a focus on AHP course availability, shortage areas and highlight AHP careers through real-life stories. You can find and follow them on Twitter @HealthCareersUK, Instagram @healthcareers and Facebook @healthcareersuk. Posts will be shared across these platforms.
  • Natioanl HEE AHP Lead will also be tweeting throughout the day via @BeverleyHarden.

Please keep an eye on these accounts and share/endorse their AHP-related content through your professional and personal channels as widely as possible. We are keen to spread the message to students, their parents/carers, schools and other influencers that AHPs are a great career choice and it’s not too late to get a university place for this year.

Thank you in advance for helping to promote AHP education and careers to the next generation of professionals.
