North West Occupational Therapy Workforce Summit

North West Occupational Therapy Workforce Summit

Wednesday 17th May 2023, 09:30am – 12:00pm

There continues to be huge challenges facing the Occupational Therapy workforce across health and social care, with an increase in demand for services alongside long term issues with recruitment and retention. With Occupational Therapy now on the UK’s Shortage Occupation List, a call to action is required to address these challenges.

Therefore, we are delighted to invite you to a regional workforce summit NHS England - North West (Workforce Training & Education Directorate) are hosting in partnership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapy on Wednesday 17th May 2023, 09.30am -12.00pm.

This is an online workshop hosted via Microsoft Teams. There will be keynote speakers from RCOT, NHS England and each of the three ICSs in the region.

You will be invited to join breakout sessions facilitated by RCOT which are centred around care pathways:

  • Children and Young People
  • Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism
  • Acute (secondary care) and Specialist (tertiary care) services
  • Primary and Community Care
  • Local Authority/Local Government Organisation and Social Care

The breakout sessions will help us to address these key questions:

  1. What can the Occupational Therapy workforce STOP or do DIFFERENTLY?
  2. What can the Occupational Therapy workforce START?
  3. What can the Occupational Therapy workforce CONTINUE?
